Create a GED or HiSET Testing Hours Class

This article describes how to create a class for recording official GED or HiSET testing hours only.

• GED/HiSET official testing hours must be recorded separately from GED/HiSET instructional contact hours.
• Only record official testing hours in SiD if your program financially supports a GED/HiSET testing center, as outlined in the MnABE High School Equivalency Testing Contact Hour Policy.

Create a GED/HiSET Testing Hours Class

1. On the Classes tab, click the blue Add button in the bottom left corner.
2. On the Class Create screen, complete all sections. For definitions of terms on this screen, see: Class Setup Field Definitions
   Pay particular attention to these fields:
   
   • Class Title: use a descriptive name like "GED Testing Hrs" so it's clear this is not a regular instructional class.
   • Attendance Format: Choose Lab from the menu.
     
   • Student Hour Type: IMPORTANT! Choose GED/HiSET Testing from the menu.
     
3. Click Save when finished.
