MnABE has a policy that offers financial support for high school equivalency testing centers operated by a member of an ABE consortium. This article has a link to the official policy and explains options for recording reimbursable GED and HiSET hours in SiD.

Only record official testing hours in SiD when your program is financially supporting a GED/HiSET testing center as outlined in the MnABE policy.
Recording GED/HiSET hours in SiD
GED/HiSET official testing hours must be recorded separately from GED/HiSET instructional contact hours.
Official testing hours appear on a separate line on MDE reporting Table A.
Official testing hours must be entered as block time OR as attendance in a special Testing Hours class. The method you choose will affect class reports in SiD and determine whether you can see GED/HiSET hours for each SiD subsite or only as a single total for the entire site.
-
Option 1: Block time - Hours recorded on an individual's Student>Time screen as block time are not associated with a class or subsite.
GED/HiSET testing hours entered as block time:
- WILL appear on Table A and other reports when they are run for the entire site
- WILL NOT appear on Table A and other reports when they are run for an individual subsite -
Option 2: GED or HiSET Testing Hours class - When you create a special GED/HiSET testing class, it is linked with a SiD subsite. Testing hours, which can be recorded on the Classes>Attendance screen, will be assigned to the subsite. Depending on your site setup, you may want to create a GED/HiSET Testing Hours class for each subsite.
With this method, GED/HiSET hours:
- WILL appear on Table A and other reports when they are run for the entire site
- WILL appear on Table A and other reports when they are run for an individual subsite
