Taking Attendance for Scheduled or Lab classes

Scheduled vs. Lab Attendance

When classes are created, attendance is noted as Scheduled or Lab. You can see the Attendance type on the Class > Summary screen, summary panel.

  • Scheduled: Assumes students will all begin and end the class period at the same time. Allows multiple students to be assigned daily attendance hours at one time.
  • Lab: Assumes students will arrive and leave at different times of the day. Requires hours to be entered for each student individually.

Calendar Coding

  • White shading, black numbers: attendance has been completed for at least some staff or students.
  • White shading, gray numbers: class is not open or dates are in the future.
  • Black shading: the date has been marked as a "no student attendance" day and no attendance has been entered for teachers, volunteers, or students.
  • Green shading: locally designated holidays.
