Add Volunteer Status to a Staff Record

It's possible for the same person to be a combination of student, staff and/or volunteer. In any case, the person should have only one SiD record, which will contain the multiple roles they have played over time.

The following directions describe how to update a record for a staff person at your site to include volunteer status. The same concepts can be applied to other combinations, such as a program volunteer who becomes a staff person.

Add Volunteer status to an existing Staff record

  1. On the Staff tab, find and select the row with the desired person's name.
  2. Go to the Staff>Info tab. Click the Add as Volunteer to Site button.

  3. Complete the Volunteer intake screen. Then click the Save button.

The person's record will now show info on the Staff AND Volunteer tabs/subtabs. There is no need to perform a person merge in this case.
