Add Staff Status to a Volunteer Record

It's possible for the same person to be a combination of student, staff and/or volunteer. In any case, the person should have only one SiD record, which will contain the multiple roles they have played over time.

The following directions describe how to update a record for a volunteer at your site to include staff status. The same concepts can be applied to other combinations, such as a program volunteer who becomes a student, etc.

Add staff status to an existing volunteer record

  1. On the Volunteer tab, find and select the row with the desired person's name.
  2. Go to the Volunteer>Info tab. Click the Add as Staff to Site button.

  3. Complete the staff intake screen. Then click the Save button.

The student record will now show info on the Volunteer AND Staff tabs/subtabs. There is no need to perform a person merge in this case.
