Update NRS/WIOA - Education Completed for GED, HiSET, diploma passers

Updated 12/10/2024

This article tells how to add an NRS/WIOA Education Completed history item to show that a student has earned a GED, HiSET, or high school diploma.

"Education Completed" is generally a student's pre-ABE formal schooling. As students progress through ABE/ESL levels, the Education Completed history item stays the same for most students. Completing all the ESL levels or having a level gain will not change the student's Education Completed history item.

There is an exception for students who pass the GED, HiSET, or diploma. In that case, add a new Education Completed history item. (Don't delete the old entry.)

An Admin-level SiD login is required to make the following changes.

  1. Go to the Students>History tab.
  2. Use the form to add a new NRS/WIOA Education Completed history item.
    • Effective Date: Use the date the student passed the GED/HiSET or earned a diploma.
    • History Group menu: choose "NRS/WIOA - Education Completed.
    • History Item menu: choose the appropriate schooling level completed by the student.
    • Click Save.

  3. A new Education Completed history item row will appear.

Do not remove the student's prior Education Completed history item unless it was created by mistake.
