Class Grant/Keyword feature

This article describes the Class Grant/Keyword feature - what it is, and when and how to use it.

The Grant/Keyword is an optional tag you can use to group classes that have something in common. Several SiD reports include a Grant/Keyword filter, making it easy to run reports for all classes that share the same keyword.

Here's how the process works.

  • Setup: add the same keyword to the Grant/Keyword field for each class in the group.
  • From the Reports tab, select a report with the Grant/Keyword filter.
  • Enter the keyword into the Grant/Keyword filter and run the report.

Use any text term you want for the keyword. We recommend using a single word, or words joined by an underscore. For example, if you have a Bremer grant for 3 classes, you could use a Grant/Keyword of "Bremer" for each class. Other keyword examples: Night_ESL; STAR; ESL_Beg_Day; Civics; or the name of a special local grant.

Class Grant/Keyword can be added, edited, or removed at any time.

Set up the Class Grant/Keyword field

  1. On the Classes>Summary screen, click the Edit button for the white summary box.
  2. Enter the keyword(s) for the class in the Grant/Keyword field. (A class can have more than one keyword associated with it.)

  3. Save changes.

Repeat for all classes that will be in the group.

To remove a Grant/Keyword from a class, click Classes>Summary edit box. Highlight and delete the existing Grant/Keyword. Save changes.

Select a report with the Grant/Keyword filter

The Reports tab has a few commonly used reports with the Grant/Keyword filter. They include:

  • Level Gains & Post-test Rates
  • Student Contact List
  • Student History Items - general, Goals, and Career Interest
  • Demographics - Program Summary, Demographic Charts, Program Summary Data Export

Run a report using the Grant/Keyword

To use the Grant/Keyword report filter, select a report with a "Grant/Keyword Like" filter.

  1. Type your keyword into the field
  2. Uncheck the box before the word Null
