Add volunteer status to a student record

It's possible for the same person to be a combination of student, staff and/or volunteer. In any case, the person should have only one record, which will contain the multiple roles they have played over time.

The following directions describe how to update a record for a student at your site to include volunteer status. The same concepts can be applied to other combinations, such as a staff person who becomes a program volunteer, etc.

Add volunteer status to a student record

  1. On the Students tab, find and select the row with the desired student name.
  2. Go to the Students>Info tab. Click the Add as Volunteer to Site button.

  3. Update the volunteer info screen and click the Save button.

The student record will now show info on the Student AND Volunteer tabs/subtabs. There is no need to perform a person merge in this case.
