It's possible for the same person to be a combination of student, staff and/or volunteer. In any case, the person should have only one record, which will contain the multiple roles they have played over time.
The following directions describe how to update a record for a student at your site to include volunteer status. The same concepts can be applied to other combinations, such as a staff person who becomes a program volunteer, etc.
Add volunteer status to a student record
- On the Students tab, find and select the row with the desired student name.
- Go to the Students>Info tab. Click the Add as Volunteer to Site button.

- Update the volunteer info screen and click the Save button.
The person's record will now show info on the Student AND Volunteer tabs/subtabs. There is no need to perform a person merge in this case.
