This article describes how to change when the class meets or characteristics of an existing class.
Edit class schedule (start and end dates, class days and times)
Best practice: edit class days and times BEFORE the date the changes go into effect.
Example: you want to add Tuesdays to the class schedule beginning April 17. Add Tuesdays to the schedule BEFORE April 17.
- Classes tab: Search for the class name; click the desired class row in the results.
- Classes > Summary: In the purple box at the top left, click the Edit button.
- Update the class fields as desired.
- Pay close attention to the Effective Date. It cannot be before the class Start date, the Last Hours date, or Last Modification date.
- Click Save
Edit class summary info (class name, class setting, etc.)
Important notes:
- The Attendance Format field (scheduled, lab, or swipe) cannot be edited once student hours are recorded for the class.
-
When changing class Hours Type (contact, distance learning hours, etc.):
- for a class with a scheduled or swipe attendance format, existing time entries will change automatically to the newly selected Hours Type.
- for a class with lab attendance format, existing time rows will not change automatically to the newly selected Hours Type. Contact us at sidsupport@literacymn.org for help changing the hours type for existing time rows. -
Sometimes distance learning programs are discontinued. When a platform has expired, the class Distance Learning Program field can no longer be edited.
- Classes>Summary tab: In the large class summary box on the left, click the blue Edit button.
-
A notice at the top of the page reminds you that any changes you make now will overwrite the way the class was set up in the past.
- Update the class fields as desired.
- Click the Save button.
