On 11/16/15, the MDE began enforcing valid ranges for TABE test scores.
But what happens to tests that were valid before the new TABE ranges were put into effect, but are now considered invalid? Can those tests be used to set levels or claim level changes?
The answer is yes!
Any test that is entered into MABE/MARCS, whether currently valid, or formerly valid and now invalid, may be used for setting levels and making level gains.
From this point forward - 11/16/15 - tests in MABE will be forced by database coding to be in range. Tests in MARCS are also expected to be in range. The MDE will conduct desk audits to ensure this policy is followed.
